Hi, I'm Mafer! a mexican independent singer and sonwritter, mom of 2, living abroad.
After releasing 2 studio albums and a mexican tour with my family band "The Boss Army, several releases under the name of "Corux", a current "EP" in the making with band "Eclatant" and being semifinalist of "The Voice" Mexico in 2018, I adventure into a completely different phase from what you've known about me when it comes to sound and lyricism. With some tints of Trip-Hop, Industrial, Synthwave, Electronic and Experimental Music that has also influenced my musical formation as much as Rock, Metal, Classical and Prog.. "Mafer Labastida" (Home produced) Is a very honest "outlet project" inspired by the dark and light in my life.. Wanting to share with you a more vulnerable side of mine like my fight trough depression after migrating to a different country but also and specially my passion for writting, producing and my love for my family and life!

Bio
"My passion for music begins at an early age; I joined the local Choir in my home town at the age of 8 years, where I had my first appearances in some national competitions. Carrying a childhood musically influenced by my parents; I was immersed in the world of Classic Rock and Funk. There was always music at home .. bands like Deep Purple, Grand Funk and Earth Wind & Fire were my inspiration. as a teenager, I was interested in very different types of music like Metal to Reggae, or TripHop to Classical Music.. music inspired my every day! And I learned piano by myself. Artist like John Lord, Mark Farner or Amy Lee marked my musical training to this day. Along my music career I've been so fortuned to be able to perform at the most respected stages on the Mexican music scene like:

"The Voice Mexico" 2018 as a semifinalist
I've shared/opened concerts for artist like "EL TRI", "Steve Aoki", "Anitta" "Filippa Giordano", "Manos de Filippi", Antidoping, Maluma, Lele Pons, Carlos Rivera, Natalia Jimenez and more...
